The European Veteran Championships
 will take place in the city of Rimini from 25 June to 2 July 2022 at the Rimini Fair.

We strongly desired to achieve the organization of the Championships in 2022 to allow fervent players from all over Europe to experience a memorable edition of the EVC characterized by the desire to return to play table tennis all together after two years of impediment imposed by the pandemic in a climate of sharing and fun. 

We want you to experience a championship with record numbers in a beautiful, technologically advanced facility and in a city that is considered the home of tourism, sea, holidays and entertainment in Italy!! 
All players over the age of 40 and those who turn 40 during the year 2022 (born before 1982) can register for the Veteran European Championships. 
During the EVC 2022 qualifications will be awarded for the following age categories: 
  • 40-44 years (born between 1982 and 1978) 
  • 45-49 years (born between 1977 and 1973) 
  • 50-54 years (born between 1972 and 1968) 
  • 55-59 years (born between 1967 and 1963) 
  • 60-64 years (born between 1962 and 1958) 
  • 65-69 years (born between 1957 and 1953) 
  • 70-74 years (born between 1952 and 1948) 
  • 75-79 years (born between 1947 and 1943) 
  • 80-84 years old (born between 1942 and 1938)
  • 85-89 years old (born between 1937 and 1933) 
  • Over 90 (born until 1932) 
Each player must participate in their own age category. Exceptions will be made for pairs of doubles, where players may not belong to the same event category. In such cases, the couple will compete in the age group of the youngest player. 
Up to 3,000 players can participate in the Veteran European Championships in Rimini. If the registration requests are greater, a waiting list will be created. In this case, the organizing committee, together with the Competition Manager of the event, will evaluate any changes to the layout to increase the number of play areas that will be set up within the facility. 

The additional places will therefore be assigned to the people on the waiting list: 
  1. in case of changes to the layout to increase the number of playing areas;
  2. in the event of any waiver by registered athletes.
The players and their companions are responsible for their physical and mental fitness. It is recommended that all participants acquire a medical certificate of fitness to practice sports before participating in the event. 

All italian athletes registered for the event, in order to participate, must be in compliance with the provisions of the Decree of the Health Ministry of 18 February 1982 on the subject of mandatory health certification. 

The Organizing Committee does not provide health insurance to the participants. Participants are therefore recommended to take out personal health insurance before arriving in Italy. Any costs for health treatments will in no case be borne by the organizers. 

However, the organizers will guarantee the constant presence at the facility of a doctor and an ambulance and first aid service. 

The Organizing Committee cannot be held responsible for any accidents, injuries, thefts or damages of any kind. 

In this regard, it should be noted that those who purchase their stay package with VisitRimini will have, included in the cost, medical and luggage insurance which includes medical expenses, hospitalization per diem, convalescence allowance, personal assistance and baggage, obviously related only to tourist reception services. 
The number of participants may be reduced in relation to any restrictions or limitations that may be imposed by future NATIONAL regulations on the containment of the spread of Covid-19. 

In order to participate in the event, Italian athletes must be in possession of a valid Green Pass. 

The health rules for the participation of non-Italian athletes, with particular reference to those residing in non-EU countries, will be communicated as soon as possible. 

A specific anti-COVID protocol for the event will be published later. 

Any updates regarding the regulations, in force from time to time, will be provided promptly. 
Those who need an entry visa to enter Italy will have to apply for a Tourist Visa with the competent authorities of their country. There is no issue of “sports competition” visas for international events reserved for veteran categories.
