During the EVCs, in days yet to be defined, amateur TTX (Table Tennis X) tournaments will be organized, the new game "format" launched in 2016 by ITTF with the aim of making the practice of our sport even more fun and dynamic.
Each tournament will have a maximum duration of approximately 3 hours!
TTX is played on a normal table tennis table. The TTX rackets are table tennis rackets without any kind of rubbers so as to offer a different playing experience by eliminating all technicalities and also allowing the less experts to be able to play and compare to those who have played for longer time.
The TTX ball is larger and heavier than that of table tennis to avoid that (if played outdoors) the wind and less than ideal weather conditions can greatly affect the game.
But the real novelty of the format is that TTX is played respecting a time limit. Each set lasts 2 minutes. The player who scores the most points in two minutes wins the game. The player who wins 2 out of the 3 sets wins the match.
All in the name of fair play!
